David Wrench

David is the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Peak Planning Group, LLC, a leading independent Registered Investment Advisor. He brings over 30 years of extensive financial services experience to the firm, with deep expertise in corporate banking, mergers and acquisitions, and investment management. David earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance from the University of Denver and later went on to earn a Master of Business Administration from Cornell University. He also holds an Executive Certificate in Doing Business in China from CEIBS (China Europe International Business School).

David served as the Global Director of Asset Allocation and Model Strategies for Russell Investments, an executive role highly relevant to his current investment leadership at Peak. At Russell, he led the global team responsible for engineering all asset allocation structures across the firm's mutual funds and model strategies, as well as for Russell’s consulting group that consulted on more than $2 trillion in assets. Known for transforming complex investment theory into practical market applications, he served on the Lipper Client Advisory Board and helped launch a commodities-based mutual fund that grew to over $1 billion in assets within the first six months.

Outside his professional role, David is committed to civic leadership and community service. He has actively supported numerous organizations, serving as Board President of the Northwest Sinfonietta, President of the Tacoma Parking and Transportation Committee, and Treasurer for the Turning Point Troubled Youth Development Organization. Additionally, he has dedicated his time to the boards of the United Way of Pierce County and the Boy Scouts of America Gateway District. In his personal life, David lives with his wife, Ellie, and is an enthusiastic father to their three children, Christopher, Katie, and Ryan. Together, they embrace the lifestyle of the Mountain West, enjoying skiing, hiking, fishing, and just about anything else outdoors.
